That’s why we love when our community asks questions about our formulas. It means you care about what goes on your lashes, brows, and skin – and so do we. Our serums, lash and brow care products, and color cosmetics are made with purpose. That means we use only the best ingredients to deliver your best results.

In this post, we’ll break down the most common questions about what’s inside our products (and what isn’t). From nourishing botanicals to physician-developed science, you’ll see how each ingredient plays a role in giving you results you can feel good about.

How do the ingredients in RevitaLash® Advanced lash serums work to improve the look of lashes?

Our RevitaLash® Advanced eyelash conditioners are developed by our founder, an ophthalmologist, to address the visible signs of eyelash aging.

Each of our three formulas (RevitaLash® Advanced, RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive, and RevitaLash® Advanced Pro) contains our exclusive BioPeptin Complex®. This complex features peptides, biotin, lipids, and green tea extract rich in panthenol. Together, these ingredients help condition, strengthen, and soften eyelashes while defending from breakage and brittleness.

Our lash serums also include plant-based Revitasome® Technology. This time-release delivery system aids ingredient absorption into the eyelash hairs for optimal results. It’s also designed to be gentle on sensitive eyes.

In addition to our advanced science, our RevitaLash® Advanced formula also contains nourishing botanical ingredients like ginseng and Swertia japonica to help protect and revitalize lashes. RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive includes moisturizing aloe vera to help soothe and calm. And RevitaLash® Advanced Pro features clover flower extract, an antioxidant rich in biochanin A to help protect lashes from free radical damage.

Finally, all three formulas feature our exclusive technology for The Curl Effect®. This technology is designed to improve lashes’ natural curl. That’s why our serums are known as a “lash lift in a bottle”!

Are the ingredients in RevitaLash® Advanced lash serums and RevitaBrow® Advanced the same?

Our lash serums and our brow serum share a key ingredient: our breakthrough BioPeptin Complex®. But the formulas differ, so you shouldn’t use them interchangeably. Why? Simply because lashes and brows have different needs.

In addition to having different formulas, our lash serums and our brow serum each have an applicator designed to precisely apply the right amount of product, exactly where it’s needed. Each one is tailored to give you the results you want, and the lashes and brows you dream about.

What other ingredients do you use in your products?

We’re proud of the top-tier ingredients we use, and we have a few favorites that you’ll find across our collection:

Biotin: A vitamin (also known as B7) that helps support hair volume and strength. You’ll find it in our Volumizing Hair Collection, where it helps deliver thicker looking, fuller-bodied hair. Biotin is also in our mascaras, where it helps prevent lash breakage. And, of course, you’ll find it in our BioPeptin Complex® that powers our lash and brow serums.

Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17: This powerful peptide and antioxidant enhances the appearance of lashes and brows. It also protects against breakage and brittleness. Look for it in our Length Define and Double-Ended Volume Set mascaras, our RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive, and our Hi-Def Brow Gel.

Vitamin E: This conditioning ingredient provides powerful antioxidant benefits to lashes, brows, and skin. It plays a starring role in our color cosmetic formulas, including our Length Define mascara and Defining Liner.

Tri-Flora Complex: Our Lash & Brow Masque is a unique formula with a unique ingredient complex! This blend of ginseng, Gleditsia, and white nettle fortifies hair to restore strength and bring back natural shine and vitality.

Panthenol: You’ll spot this humectant, a form of vitamin B5, in many of our formulas, from our serums to our lash and brow care to our haircare. We love its ability to hydrate and help fortify lashes, brows, and hair.

Are your ingredients safe for sensitive eyes?

Our RevitaLash® Advanced lash serums have been carefully formulated by an ophthalmologist. All of our products have been tested by independent research laboratories to affirm that they are safe. We avoid ingredients known to cause irritation, such as fragrance, gluten, and common allergens.

However, as with any cosmetic, some people may be allergic to one or more ingredients in the formula. Every person is different, and people can have reactions to anything – from seasonal allergens like pollen to ingredients in common foods, and even the mildest of beauty products, including eyeliner and mascara.

Always apply products used around the eye area according to the directions. This can help reduce the potential for irritation. And if you do find any product you use causes irritation, stop using it.

If you know your eyes are sensitive, consider trying our RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive formula. This lash serum was developed to be extra-gentle on sensitive eyes. An 8-week independent consumer study of 154 participants who self-reported sensitive eyes and lashes showed very favorable results:

Are RevitaLash Cosmetics products “clean beauty”?

There’s no universal definition for “clean” in the beauty industry. But at RevitaLash® Cosmetics, we have our own ingredient “no-no” list to ensure responsible formulation. Our products do not contain parabens, phthalates, or animal-derived ingredients (making them vegan-friendly and cruelty-free).

Our physician-developed serums, color cosmetics, and lash and brow care products are also free of fragrance and made with hypoallergenic ingredients.

How do you test your products for safety and results?

You might have noticed that we don’t launch new products too often. That’s because formulating, safety testing, and getting real consumer feedback on our products takes time…sometimes even years!

Here are a few of the steps involved in the process of bringing a new RevitaLash® Cosmetics product to our customers:

We work with top chemists in the cosmetics industry to develop products with the best available ingredients that meet our high standards
Throughout design and development, experts such as dermatologists and/or ophthalmologists review each product formulation to ensure its safety
We send our products to independent labs to conduct safety testing
Our RevitaLash® Cosmetics team tests new formulas themselves to make sure products are easy to use and perform how they’re supposed to
We commission independent consumer studies of new products to get feedback from real users
Our models even use the products in the weeks leading up to our photo shoots, so you can see how they work up close!
After our products launch, we track customer feedback to ensure we keep delivering the highest quality formulations
