Boosting Cancer Patients’ Confidence with Cold Cap Therapy

What Is Cold Cap Therapy?

Cold cap, or scalp cooling treatments can help people undergoing chemotherapy prevent hair loss on the head – a common side effect of chemotherapy drugs. Patients wear the cap before, during, and after their chemotherapy infusion. The cap circulates coolant liquid to cool the patient’s scalp, restricting blood flow to hair follicles which in turn limits damage to the follicles.

Eligible patients at Ridley-Tree Cancer Center and UCLA Health will receive free treatment with the Paxman Scalp Cooling System thanks to our grant. The innovative Paxman system, renowned globally for its effectiveness, has assisted over 100,000 patients in more than 50 countries.

How Will the Cold Cap Program Support Patients?

This initiative aims to provide vital support to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Many patients are unable to afford or access scalp cooling treatments as they undergo treatment for cancer. Our grant will make cold cap therapy available free of charge to eligible patients at Ridley-Tree Cancer Center and UCLA Health Santa Barbara.

We’ve helped nonprofits raise funds through inspiring events, including fashion shows celebrating breast cancer survivors and thrivers at Future Dreams House in London and in Palm Beach, Florida with Simply From the Heart.

We’ve supported our global partners with matching donations to benefit breast cancer organizations around the world, including in Vietnam, Colombia, Sweden, France, United Kingdom, Italy, New Zealand and Ukraine.

And we’ve funded quality-of-life support for cancer patients through the Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC) of Santa Barbara as well as Ridley-Tree Cancer Center.
